GPS tracking goes mobile with the new iPhone app from GPSTrackIt.com/. The app enables iPhone users of the company’s Fleet Manager system to locate, monitor, and track their fleet vehicles from the palm of their hand.
There’s a new app available from the Apple App Store, but you don’t need to find it. It will find you. It will, that is, if you’re one of GPS Trackit’s fleet management customers using their Fleet Manager GPS tracking software.
The new app enables fleet managers to view their vehicle tracking information on their iPhones.
“A user can see their history and set up alerts to better monitor their fleet,” said Eddie Bermudez, GPS Trackit’s Product Manager. “With smartphones becoming increasingly popular, the GPS Trackit iPhone app is the perfect companion for any fleet manager.”
As more and more resources are deployed into the field, the need for effective tools to manage them is growing.
“Mobile workforce management is becoming the norm,” added Bermudez. “I am excited that we have released an app that not only helps fleet managers manage their employees, but also gives them easy access to support them from wherever they are.”
The new app provides access to the powerful features of the Fleet Manager system, a staple of the fleet vehicle management industry. Using the app, a mobile user can display vehicle trails and event history (Ignition, vehicle starts/stops, etc.). Alerts can be created for a wide variety of applications, including speeding and idling, two of the biggest contributors to excessive fuel consumption. Drivers can be sent directions to further help reduce fuel waste, and the iPhone app enables fleet managers to set up and schedule maintenance items like oil changes, tune ups, and tire rotations. The system’s maintenance alerts, as with those previously mentioned, are sent to designated users via email or SMS text messages.
The new iPhone app is available for free to users of GPS Trackit’s Fleet Manager vehicle tracking system. Current subscribers include 1000s of small service businesses, government agencies, and construction companies.
